Nicola's Counselling Profile

Hi there, I'm a counsellor and partner here at Mountains & Valley's Christian Counselling. I believe in dignity, agency and the quiet courage it takes to seek support. My work is shaped by a gentle, relational approach that honours each person's story and pace. I bring my training as a Counsellor together with my faith and offer a safe space to explore where life feels heavy and tangled.

I have spent 10+ years working with people with learning disabilities and mental health challenges which has shaped me in ways that go beyond professional skill. I am able to communicate with clarity and warmth as well as hold space for complexity. I have a heart for those supporting family members with learning disabilities - from profound, life-limiting needs to the complexities of autism. This comes from both professional training and personal experience, giving me a unique understanding of the responsibility, exhaustion and love that shapes that journey.

I also work with people facing different kinds of challenges, from anxiety and overwhelm to family pressures, trauma or bereavement. I am trained as an Integrative Counsellor and am able to shape my approach based on who you are what you need. I blend various modalities including Person-Centred, CBT and Creative Interventions. There is nothing you can bring that is "too much" or "too messy" for this space. You're welcome to show up just as you are, whatever you're carrying.
